Status of Library Spaces and Facilities in University Libraries in Kenya

In the global sphere, university library users’ needs continue to change thus libraries are repositioning themselves address changing needs. An important aspect of revolves around space and many making efforts their spaces meet need driven by information technology, improved higher education systems shifting expectations. This paper discusses status in Kenyan is based on research conducted using pragmatic paradigm a convergent mixed methods design multiple case studies strategy. The study population was users Kenya consisting six (6) participating universities (three public three private) purposefully selected age (time they have been existence). Students academic staff participated survey; librarians focus groups while had interviews. collected data through online questionnaires, group discussions telephone call qualitative thematically analysed quantitative adopted statistical approach that encompasses descriptive statistics. results show some common available among libraries, most preferred frequently used daily basis. recommends continuous assessment order understand make informed decisions.
